SUMMARY:

As Clinical Director, SUD/OUD, you will participate in the cross functional development of digital therapeutics in Pear’s substance use disorder/opioid use disorder program. The Clinical Director provides crucial clinical input into the mechanisms of actions and features incorporated into a digital therapeutic and is responsible for its early clinical development. In addition, this role provides clinical input and support for regulatory authority submissions and to the commercialization of authorized products. Open, effective, and proactive communication is critical for success in this role. This position reports to the VP, Research and Development.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a cross functional clinical team in the strategic, tactical, and day-to-day execution of an early clinical development program
  • Actively participate in the Innovation Team, which oversees the strategic and tactical development as well as maintenance of a PDT, providing clinical insight into the features, content, and mechanisms of action(s); responsible for the content of a PDT
    Support Clinical Operations with budget builds, vendor selection, and compliance for assigned program and clinical trials
  • In collaboration with the Global Clinical Lead, SUD/OUD, plan and execute the overall clinical development plan for the SUD/OUD PDTs as well as perform life cycle management of the products
  • Participate in the Medical Affairs strategy including publications and external studies as needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders; participate in Advisory Boards as needed
  • Assist with regulatory (FDA, Competent Authority) and local IRB and Ethics Committee submissions and subsequent responses

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, PsyD, or DO) with 3+ years in Addiction Medicine is preferred
  • The candidate should have clinical research experience including clinical trial design.
  • Experience with digital and/or user research, usability, and/or human factor studies is a plus
  • Experience in operating effectively within a matrixed environment, specifically in a healthcare/pharmaceutical start-up setting
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and resources, meet deadlines, and be flexible to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Possess influential leadership skills with proven ability to lead a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast pace environment, is collaborative, and intellectually curious
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 20% when safe to do so post-COVID-19 pandemic
