Deep Learning Specialists (Senior and Junior)

If you are passionate about deep learning and medical imaging, we need to meet!

Start date: ASAP

The mission of Neuroelectrics Research is to integrate and develop new science within the framework of the electrical brain to transform it into technologies of clinical value for patients affected by neuropsychiatric disorders (tES/tCS). Our team is looking for extremely passionate and talented researchers to join our team as permanent staff. Our philosophy is to base this research and the development of solutions firmly on experimentally-validated computational brain models. As a consequence, our work is at the (exciting) interface of biomathematics (neuro-inspired models), machine learning, physics (bioelectromagnetism, electric field models), neurophysiology/neurology, and medical device development.

What we are looking for:

A strong basis in computer science and in particular deep learning for applications in medical imaging and physics, numerical methods, and mathematics. Curiosity, teamwork, and rigor. The working context is highly interdisciplinary, so the ability to quickly learn new materials will be essential. Candidates will be or will rapidly become familiar with neuroimaging data analysis (MRI). We work with Python, Matlab, git; Comsol (finite element modeling) and SimNIBS (MRI image segmentation and head model creation) for physical modeling. Our working language is English. Sufficient, writing, speaking, presenting skills are required.

Working location:

  • Our Barcelona offices, with occasional travel to offices in Cambridge, MA.

Type of contract:

  • Permanent / staff.

Salary:

  • Depends on the post. Our salaries are competitive and contracts are revised on a yearly basis.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate will be in charge of designing and developing robust algorithms and the software infrastructure to speed our operational pipelines (see Ruffini, G, F Wendling, R Sanchez-Todo, and Emiliano Santarnecchi. 2018. “Targeting Brain Networks with Multichannel
  • Transcranial Current Stimulation (TCS).” Current Opinion in Biomedical Engineering 8: 70–77. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.cobme.2018.11.001.).
  • To create deep learning operational pipelines for segmentation of head MRI data.
  • To develop fast solutions to solve partial differential equations and associated optimizers. The goal is fast, minimally supervised automation.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer science at a Masters of Ph.D. level.
  • Experience in deep learning.
  • Proficiency in English at both oral and written levels.
