Job Role & Summary
As a Neural Security Research Intern you will be an integral part of our research team, contributing to cutting-edge research projects in the field of neural data security. The primary objective is to research neural security as it relates to the brain-computer interface modulation/ acquisition cycle, neural impact, and other topics. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on pioneering technologies and security strategies to protect sensitive neurological information.
Responsibilities
- Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on emerging threats and vulnerabilities in neural technologies and data security. Analyze current security protocols in neurology clinics and research institutions.
- Penetration Testing and Auditing: Assist in penetration testing and security auditing of neurological devices and systems. Document findings and recommend improvements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the security team to develop and implement effective security measures. Participate in team meetings and provide input on security strategies.
- Project Support: Provide support in various projects, including developing security governance frameworks for medical devices and contributing to the cybersecurity training curriculum.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on research findings and testing results. Assist in the creation of security guidelines and best practices documentation.
Skills
- Neural Technologies: Basic understanding of or keen interest in neural technologies and brain-computer interfaces.
- Understanding of Neural Interfaces: Knowledge of the principles and workings of neural interfaces, such as brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and neuroprosthetics. This includes understanding how these devices capture, interpret, and transmit neural data.
- Signal Processing: Skills in signal processing, particularly for neural signals.
- Data Analysis and Machine Learning: Proficiency in analyzing large datasets common in neurotech applications and using machine learning algorithms to interpret neural data.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Neuroscience, Biology or a related field.
- Strong interest in neural technology and cybersecurity.
- Basic understanding of information security principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Able to dedicate 10-20 hours a week.
