RESEARCH SCIENTIST, McGovern Institute for Brain Research-Feng Lab, to join a team that is exploring new animal models and technologies in brain disorder research. Will lead projects that are developing novel animal models and investigating new mechanisms of brain disorders and developing gene therapy approaches for brain disorders; work together with excellent genome-editing teams to apply knowledge and skills to establish novel animal models and use a variety of new technologies to discover novel mechanisms; and supervise technical associates working on the project. Will also be involved in manuscript preparation and grant writing.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:

Ph.D. and/or MD degree in biological or related field; at least four years of directly relevant research experience in neuroscience or genetic engineering; extensive knowledge of neuroscience, brain disorders, transgenic animal models, genome editing, molecular and cellular biology; hands-on experience with genome-editing and with designing, generating, and analyzing transgenic animals; and training and experience in molecular and cellular methods, genetics, and CRISPR technology.
