The inhalation group in Translational Immunology is seeking a motivated, interactive, and highly organized Senior Scientific Researcher or Principal Scientific Researcher to perform in vivo animal studies in support of research and pipeline projects addressing unmet needs in chronic lung diseases. The successful candidate will be responsible for model development and carrying out studies in established PK/PD and efficacy models, with a focus on projects that involve inhaled drug delivery. This individual is expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative team setting to evaluate therapeutic candidate molecules.

 

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Handle a high volume of in vivo work in mouse, rat, and guinea pig, including dosing, blood collection, and necropsy/tissue collection
  • Perform various techniques of inhaled dosing, such as intranasal, intratracheal, or oropharyngeal dosing, as well as administering compounds via inhalation towers with both wet and dry aerosols
  • Be in charge of experimental design and execution, sample processing, data collection and analysis
  • Present resulting data in various forums, including lab meetings, department meetings, and multi-functional project teams

 

Requirements:

  • The successful applicant will have BA/BS or MS (Senior Scientific Researcher) or PhD (Principal Scientific Researcher) in immunology, cell biology, neuroscience, or related field, preferably with a background in lung biology and 2+ years experience in academic or industry laboratory setting.
  • Those familiar with inhalation techniques, including aerosol generation and characterization, will be given precedence.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving, flexibility, and the ability to integrate detailed analysis into a larger disease-oriented context will be expected.
