Zander Labs is a leader in neuroadaptive technology, pioneering innovative solutions to enhance human-computer interaction. We are embarking on the NAFAS project, a landmark 30 million EUR initiative set to revolutionize the field.

We are looking for a creative and ambitious data scientist with 1-3 years of experience and strong programming skills to work on diverse projects linking machine learning, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, digital signal processing and brain-computer interfaces. In this role the successful candidate will help develop highly innovative and complex applications and modules that allow for the use of brain data for the creation of the next generation artificial intelligence systems that better understand human values and are, therefore, closer aligned in their goals. This role will be a step into the AI revolution currently taking place.

Among other tasks the successful candidate is expected to:

• Design, implement, test, and validate pipelines for processing data and training machine learning models.
• Design, implement, test, and validate various other modules in large complex architectures.
• Train machine learning models and make them available for the overall systems.
• Create demonstrators for the various technologies and present them in technical and public meetings.
• Combine various machine learning models to bring context awareness toward BCI for achieving neuroadaptivity.
• Work closely within multidisciplinary teams involving scientists from multiple fields and help with the implementation of scientific methods and ideas into concrete and useful tools.
• Help with the transfer of various software tools into hardware implementations.

Job requirements

• Advanced degree in a relevant field such as computer-science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, applied mathematics.
• Proven experience in working on complex systems with considerable R&D components.
• Strong programming skills and proven development experience with Python, especially on machine learning projects. Proven scientific programming experience.
• Strong analytical and modelling skills, ability to generate ideas on highly technical and diverse topics.
• Strong digital signal processing knowledge.
• Familiarity with tensorflow and related technologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with human-computer interaction and/or brain-computer interfaces is a plus.
• Familiarity with SCRUM development paradigm and git version control system
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
