MindXs Ltd is a newly founded innovative high-tech medical startup in Cyprus that is accepting applications for up to two (2) full-time Research and Software Development positions, employed under the MindXs Pre-Seed Project. The following positions are available:

• Full-stack Developer
• Machine Learning Developer

The MindXs research project is funded under the «Pre-Seed» Programme of the Cyprus Research and Innovation Foundation. The project centers on the development of a new analysis platform to aid neurologists and other healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and monitoring of neurological conditions.

The successful candidates will be working for MindXs, and will have close collaboration with the Visual Computing Research Group at the CYENS Research Centre. Position holders will conduct applied research and development, and also participate in the preparation of project reports, deliverables, as well as dissemination events. Job Title: Full-stack Developer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Be involved in the full product development life cycle, including the design, implementation, automated testing, and production release of front-end and back-end services.
• Work together with other members of the Project Team to refine and formalize their requirements in analyzing and visualizing neurological (EEG) data.
• Use agile software development methodologies to design, develop, and test a high-quality web platform to aid healthcare professionals (End Users) in visualizing, analyzing, and diagnosing different neurological conditions.
• Create the necessary interfaces and APIs for web tools to connect to the MindXs neural network framework (i.e., provide input, collect output, and visualize it).
• Collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Principal Investigators for the successful completion of tasks on time and within budget.
• Report to the Project Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Strong coding skills in front-end and back-end web development.
• Ability to write efficient, scalable, well-documented code that is version-controlled daily.
• Experience in multiple server-side languages (e.g., Node.js, PHP, C#, Java, Ruby, Python).
• Experience in the development of web applications using frameworks based on web technologies (e.g., PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript).
• Experience with RESTful Services and APIs.
• Experience with version control workflows (e.g., Git).
• Proven understanding of Docker containers, builds, and application delivery in containerized environments.
• Willingness to research and acquire additional skills needed to excel in the role.
• Self-motivation, ability to work independently, and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent knowledge of both spoken and written English language.

Additional Qualifications will be considered an advantage

• Master’s degree with focus in the areas of Software Design / Information Technology.
• Knowledge of cloud technologies including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
• Confidence in mathematics (e.g., linear algebra, probabilistic methods).
• Prior experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, FastAI).
• Prior experience with productivity software (e.g., Jira, Quip, Trello, Slack).

Benefits and Employment Terms

The positions are on a contract basis of one year with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and budget availability. An attractive remuneration package will be offered to successful candidates based on experience and qualifications.
