We are looking for a Lead Firmware Engineer to join our Dream Team to lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of firmware on the world’s first, “sleep lab in a mask”.

Join us as the Lead Firmware Engineer and embark on a heroic mission to revolutionize sleep with the Bía Smart Sleep Mask. Your mission will be creating, managing, and fine-tuning the firmware that analyzes sleep data and creates real-time sleep personalizations for our customers.

Job Type, Compensation, and Perks

  • Full-Time
  • Base Salary: $100,000 – 150,000

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsible for code architecture, development environments, firmware programming, documentation, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release in accordance with our user requirements.
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and management of digital signal processing algorithms on device
  • Responsible for ensuring seamless device connectivity and data transfer over BLE, Bluetooth Classic, and Wifi.
  • Responsible for ensuring firmware is secure in factory and on-device.
  • All software-related user requirements are fulfilled on-time and on-budget
  • Devices continues to run smoothly without crashes and development is fulfilled on-time and on-budget

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field such as physics or mathematics, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing firmware for consumer devices, with a preference for wearables, in languages such as C and C++
  • Experience taking a product from idea to release
  • Experience with digital signal processing on device
  • Experience developing with ESP32 / RTOS platform
  • Experience working with the following components: Audio, IMU, AFE4950, and Temperature.
  • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines to ensure critical bugs never make it into production environments
  • Experience with firmware security best practices
  • Experience with developing QA processes for hardware manufacturers
  • Experience working in a startup environment or part of a small team
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, make architectural decisions, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams is an asset
