As part of the Digital Skills for Youth Program coordinated by Communautique, NeuroTechX is looking for Social Media and Marketing Coordinator [Internship].

NeuroTechX (NTX) is the largest international community for neurotechnology enthusiasts. Comprising a global community of over 16,000 members, NTX is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate the advancement of neurotechnology by providing key resources and learning opportunities, and by being leaders in local and global technological initiatives. Each year, NTX hosts more than 100 gatherings globally across 25+ Chapters. Across 13 initiatives such as our chapters, our neurotech student clubs, our job board, our educational platform, our newsletter, our upcoming book, our Slack platform, we are addressing our 3 core pillars: Community, Education, Innovation.

We are currently looking for a Social Media and Marketing Coordinator to help us up our game on social media!

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Creation of written content (copy) for different platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook)
• Creation of visual content such as images, gif, or small videos for different platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook).
• Promote events, from simple posts/tweets for small events to elaborated campaigns for bigger events.
• Monthly reports on various metrics of interest.
• Weekly follow-ups with different teams/committees to coordinate external communications.

• Outreach to relevant organizations for advertising, cross-promoting and amplifying our reach.

Ideal Profile

• We’re looking for someone with an interest in neurotechnology and deep tech in general.
• We’re looking for someone with an interest in science communication (#SciComm)
• We’re looking for someone autonomous but also able to seek help when required.
• We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of the 2020+ social media game, however we’re still mainly focusing on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter since our scientific community isn’t as much on TikTok and Instagram (starting to change!).
• We’re looking for someone fluent in English. 
• We’re looking for someone detail oriented because our community is highly scientific with a high level of education and it’s important we meet their expectations.

Length : 24 weeks (~6 months)

Start Date : As soon as possible

Salary : $20/h

Schedule : 35h/week (full time)

Location: Remote (from Canada – see eligibility criteria below)

As part of the internship, the intern will participate to a series of training coordinated by Communautique.

Eligibility criteria for the Digital Skills for Youth Internship Program

• Be between 15 and 30 years old at the beginning of the internship
• Have completed post-secondary studies
• Have the legal right to work in Canada
• Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident or a person with refugee status in Canada
• Not receive employment insurance (EI) during the internship
• Self-assess as underemployed, that is, employed below their level of education or holding a part-time job
• Not have already participated in a digital skills for youth program.
